Pumpkinfest at Riverlink Park on October 15th and 16th!
 
October 11th, 2005 – The Amsterdam Waterfront Foundation would like to invite you to join us for two fun filled days celebrating fall in Upstate New York along the scenic Erie Canal and Mohawk River!  There  will be events all weekend to please both kids, and kids at heart!
 
Pumpkinfest will run on Saturday October 15th from 12pm to 9pm and Sunday October 16th from 12pm to 6pm. Entertainment is planned for both days, as well as fireworks on Saturday night at dusk!
 
For musical entertainment on Saturday, we will feature “Swivel” from 12pm until 2:30pm, “The Rogues” from 2:30pm until 5pm, and the “Jammin’ Fiddlers Tour” at 5pm to round out the rest of the evening.  On Sunday, we have Don Golden from 1pm until 3pm and local favorites “Braided Souls” from 3pm. 
 
There will be plenty of things for the kids to do, including pumpkin judging on Saturday at 2pm -- so kids don’t forget to bring your carved or decorated pumpkins by 1pm! There will also be pumpkins available for purchase.  ‘Scary Stories’ will be told by the Amsterdam Free Library on the deck at 4pm. There will be cruises along the Mohawk all day on Saturday for just $7 a person!  It's a perfect way to enjoy the changing leaves.
 
There will also be a hay maze, rides, games and face painting for the kids. For the adults there will be apples, cider and cider donuts, as
well as other fall favorites. Local area crafters will be on hand both days, as well as a flea market. Start that shopping while the kids  enjoy the rides!
 
hot dogs and hamburgers, sausage with peppers and onions, fried dough along with ice cream and homemade Manhattan clam chowder will be provided by Pasqualli’s Riverlink Café. Many other items will also be available (so be sure to come hungry)!
 
Pumpkinfest would not be possible without the support of Amsterdam Memorial, St. Mary’s Hospital and the Amsterdam Teachers Association.   Products and services were also provided by Terlecky Brothers, Pasqualli’s Restaurant and Banquet Facility, Quandt’s Foodservice Distributors, Inc. and Adirondack Internet Services.
